鋼邊橡膠止水帶的生產過程，我們可以先將經過先期處理的鍍鋅鋼帶插入橡膠中間硫化成形，兩者之間的粘結力的牢固性，具有明顯防滲止水方面的效果。中埋式鋼邊止水帶的中間橡膠體在結構變形時被壓縮、拉伸、變形，而起到密封止水作用；鍍鋅鋼帶與混凝土有著良好的粘附性，不易脫落和松動，使止水帶能承受較大的拉力和扭力。在施工中由于混凝土澆筑時的巨大振動力和不易固定，會使普通橡膠止水帶產生移位、扯離、扭轉而出現松動和脫落，以致在水壓較大的情況下會產生滲漏現象，而采用鋼邊橡膠止水帶時，由于鋼帶與混凝土、鋼帶與橡膠之間不會產生新的滲漏縫。因此，鋼邊橡膠止水帶增強了結構變形的防滲性能，對整個工程的防滲止水起到了重要的質量保證作用，同時在安裝后具有良好的自定性好，克服了止水帶需用多方固定的工序，使施工安裝更加的方便。

鋼邊橡膠止水帶系以一般可伸縮的橡膠和兩邊配有鍍鋅鋼邊所組成的復合件。這種止水帶主要靠中間的橡膠段在混凝土變形縫間被壓縮或拉伸，而起到密封止水作用。一般來說，混凝土和橡膠的粘附力較差，在常規施工中，又因橡膠是柔軟彈性體，使混凝土在澆筑時不易被掏實，故在混凝土接縫膨脹，扯離、扭轉時會經常出現橡膠止水帶松動和脫落，以致在水頭壓力較高情況下會產生滲漏現象。對于變形縫大的接縫來說，問題就更為突出。采用鍍鋅鋼邊橡膠復合式止水帶，基本上可以克服純橡膠橋式止水帶的這些不足。而且這種復合式止水帶還具有雙重功能，即一方面可以延長途徑，延緩滲水速度，另一方面鍍鋅鋼邊和混凝土有著良好的粘附性，使止水帶能承受較大的拉力和扭力，從而保證橡膠止水帶的混凝土中的有效變形范圍內不會產生松動和脫落現象，提高止水效果。鋼邊橡膠止水帶選用鍍鋅鋼邊；橡膠：通常選用天然橡膠、氯丁橡膠、三元乙丙橡膠等。要求橡膠和鋼邊能有效地粘結，它們之間的粘結強度（剝離強度）應達80~10N/2.5mm，以使它們在外界條件變化情況下不被拉脫。通常鋼邊邊緣沒有工藝孔，安裝澆筑混凝土時，利用工藝將止水帶和鋼邊用細鐵絲纏繞固定，以保證澆搗密實，使鍍鋅鋼片和混凝土有效地牢固粘附。本產品主要用于混凝土現澆時設在施工縫及變形縫內與混凝土結構成為一體的基礎工程，如地下設施、隧道涵洞、輸水渡槽、攔水壩、貯液構筑物等。
